Art has always been important to me in its many guises.
  
I am fascinated not only by art throughout history, but art of today. I dabbled with ‘gouache’ and a few pencil sketches in the
summer of 1985, then my career took priority and I did not
paint again for 25 years.

I did not pursue my interest in exploring and trying different styles of painting again until January 2010 after I had taken early retirement from teaching.

I have not had any formal training in art/painting as such, but have read widely on, and, over a period of time, have  studied different styles and techniques, which I may  incorporate into my work in the future. I am a self taught artist.
